Arrival Time:

Note: There will be designated parking spots for unloading your car near the dorm or apartment entrance. After unloading, you will need to move your car to another parking spot.
"The Gathering": Located in the Lobby of Criswell Hall, this is an area to "meet and greet", socialize, and have a snack from 3-6 p.m. Monday afternoon. Monday evening we will all gather from 7:30 to 9 p.m. for card games, board games, puzzles, and adult coloring. "The Gathering" will also be open every day, with exception of during meal times and Wednesday evening during the movie.

Central Region lanyard. Bring yours, if you have never received a lanyard, you may receive one at Retreat.

DOOR DECORATIONS!!! SHOW OFF YOUR SKILLS! Bring Painters Tape and/or Magnets to adhere a CRAFTY DOOR DECOR. Personalize your door with your county, club or Retreat Theme.

Silent Auction: Each county is encouraged to bring one or more theme baskets or quality items to be auctioned. The value is to be at least $20-25. Please bring items to the GATHERING PLACE Lobby of Criswell Hall, Monday, 4-6 pm and Tuesday and Wednesday 8-10 am. Proceeds from this auction are designated to the Mildred Clarke Scholarship Fund. The intent of this annual auction is to fund future scholarships for first timers.
General Store: In 2025 we will offer a “Boutique” store for $5 items and a “Bargain Basement” Store for $1 items. Participants are encouraged to donate gently worn clothing, books, games, decorations, craft supplies, garden items, etc. in good working order and to shop for treasures! Please bring items to the general store in the Johnston Center, room 211, Monday, 4-6 pm and Tuesday and Wednesday 8-10 am. Proceeds from the General Store are used to provide Star Scholarships. Five names will be chosen at random for Star Scholarships to be used the following year. All Central Region participants (full and one day) are eligible and winners need not be present to win. WE ARE NOT ACCEPTING USED CLOTHING THIS YEAR. PLEASE DONATE, THANK YOU.
Service Project: This year's Retreat Service Project will support the Food Pantry on the UT Southern campus. This is a way to give back to our hosts and benefit the students. The coordinator has asked for specific items geared to college students. If you wish to contribute, please bring any of the following with you to registration: Pop Tarts, Ramen Noodles, Breakfast/Granola Bars, Individual instant oatmeal packets, Pudding Cups, Cracker packs--peanut butter, cheese, etc., Individual tuna packets, Tuna/cracker kits.
Room Accommodations: There are two options for overnight lodging. DORM or HOTEL
We are staying in a dorm room for two people with a community bathroom. Each person has her own bed. Bed height is 30 inches and cannot be lowered. Suggest you bring a step stool, if needed. Bring bed linens for an extra-long twin bed, a foam or pillow top mattress is recommended; pillow, blanket, towels, washcloth, soap/shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, etc., a jacket/sweater, several changes of clothing (or layers) to accommodate the heat of summer and air-conditioned meeting rooms, good pair of closed toe walking shoes for safe walking to classrooms, umbrella, flashlight, and your phone or camera to capture the fun! Remember to bring the classroom supplies not provided by teachers.
BEDS CANNOT BE LOWERED THIS YEAR. They will be between 30 inches. SUGGEST TO BRING A STOOL.
Hotel: Due to apartment renovations at UT Southern during the summer of 2025, dorm space is limited to 80 attendees. We have special rates at the Giles Hotel Inn & Suites; the cost will be $107 per night for standard (2 double queen/1 king) room. You are responsible for making your own reservations. Reservations are to be made directly to Chris at 931- 478-0624 and mention group UT Extension Service. Other rooms available are mini suite for $122, jacuzzi suite for $130, and master suite for $160. The hotel address is 1140 West College St, Pulaski, TN.
A Mildred Clarke Scholarship is available to first time retreat attendees. One full-time scholarship per county is chosen by the county and paid by the region, or can be shared by commuter/one day participants in the county. After approval by the county, the form is to be attached to your registration form and sent to the county treasurer who then submits to the Region Treasurer.
*In the event that a county does not have a first-time member wishing to attend retreat, each county will be able to nominate another member based on merit for the Mildred Clarke Scholarship. The County Council will make the decision to whom the scholarship will be awarded. The members name will be submitted on the form following the same instructions as a first-time attending member. This offering is for the 2025 retreat only. Future years will depend on available funds.*
